Aug 10, Kuwait News, (KUNA) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced today, Monday, that 687 new cases of the new Corona disease (Covid 19) were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases registered in the country to 72,400, while 4 deaths were recorded as a result of contracting the disease to become The total number of deaths registered to date is 482.
The Ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that among the previous cases that had been confirmed were contacts with confirmed cases, and others under investigation for the source of infection and examining those in contact with them.
Al-Sanad explained that the previous 687 cases included 443 cases of Kuwaiti citizens, at a rate of 64.48 percent, and 244 cases for non-Kuwaitis, a rate of 35.52 percent.
He stated that the injuries were distributed according to the health regions, with 168 cases in the Ahmadi health district, 168 in the Al-Jahra health district, 147 in the Farwaniya health area, 117 in the Hawally health district, and 87 in the capital health district.
He indicated that the number of people receiving medical care in intensive care departments is 117 cases, bringing the total number of all cases that have been confirmed and are still receiving the necessary medical care 7890 cases.
He pointed out that the number of swabs that were performed during the past 24 hours reached 3450, bringing the total to 535803.
Al-Sanad renewed the call for citizens and residents to continue adopting all preventive means, avoid mixing with others, and be keen to implement the strategy of physical distancing, recommending to visit the official accounts of the Ministry of Health and official authorities in the country to view the instructions and recommendations and everything that would contribute to containing the spread of the virus.
