June 29, KUWAIT NEWS, (KUNA) — Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced on Monday 582 new infections with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during past 24 hours raising total of contaminations with the communicable germ to 45,524.
Health authorities recorded two deaths during the same period, putting overall count of fatalities due to infection with the pathogen at 350 since its outbreak in the country months ago.
Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) some of these cases had gotten close to infected persons and infection source of the others was being traced.
The updated total caseload includes 319 Kuwaiti nationals and 263 expatriates, Dr. Al-Sanad told KUNA.
Giving a breakdown of the cases’ distribution per district, Dr. Al-Sanad said 158 of the patients were registered in Al-Ahmadi, 136 in Al-Jahraa, 115 in Al-Farwaniya, 88 in Hawally and 85 in Al-Assima (the capital).
Currently, there are patients 145 receiving treatment at intensive care wards and count of the confirmed cases that remained under medical treament amounted to 8,861, Dr. Al-Sanad revealed.
He added that 70 patients were discharged from quarantine, during the past 24 hours, however they would sequester themselves at home for 14 days.
The health authorities conducted 3,504 swab tests in the past 24 hours, raising the whole count to 382,842, Dr. Al-Sanad added.
Earlier today, the Health Ministry announced recovery of 819 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 36,313. (end) mak.rk

June 29, Kuwait MoH: 819 recoveries from COVID-19 in Kuwait, tally at 36,313
June 29, KUWAIT NEWS, (KUNA) — Some 819 people recovered from the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 36,313, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said on Monday.
The ministry added, in a statement to KUNA, that the recoveries’ number was based on medical tests, which proved that the patients were now virus-free.
