Kuwait reports 10 new coronavirus deaths, 991 infections

KUWAIT, May 12 (KUNA) — The Ministry of Health of Kuwait announced Tuesday that the lethal novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed the lives of more 10 people in the past 24 hours, raising the death toll up to 75.
In his daily coronavirus update, the Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad stated that 991 people have tested positive for the highly contagious virus today, increasing the overall number of infections in the country to 10,277.
He pointed out that 158 patients were in intensive care, including 74 in critical condition.
Earlier, the Health Ministry announced the recovery of 194 COVID-19 patients, bringing the total to 3,101 recoveries.

MoH: 194 coronavirus recoveries in Kuwait, total up to 3,101

KUWAIT, May 12 (KUNA) — Kuwait’s Health Ministry announced, Tuesday, the recovery of 194 novel coronavirus patients, bringing the tally to 3,101.
A ministry press statement said analyses and medical examinations and tests proved that these cases were cured of the coronavirus.
The recovered will be transferred to the hospital recuperation ward, pending their discharge within the next few days, it noted.

MoH: 128 buildings quarantined due to COVID-19, 15 Co-Ops inspected

KUWAIT, May 12 (KUNA) — Some 128 residential buildings are under quarantine due to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), while 15 cooperative societies are under inspection, said a health official Tuesday.
During the daily COVID-19 briefing, Undersecretary at the Health Ministry Dr, Buthaina Al-Mudhaf affirmed that samples taken from the buildings’ residents proved that over 1,000 individuals were infected with the virus.
As for the markets, some 2,900 COVID-19 swipes were taken to determine the spread of the virus.
Earlier, the Health Ministry said that 991 individuals were infected with the virus, while ten people were passed away.
