May 16, KUWAIT, (KUNA) — The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health declared on Saturday recording 942 new coronavirus infection cases in past 24 hours, raising toll of contamination cases to 13,802 since outbreak of the contagion in the Gulf state.
The ministry also reported 11 new deaths from the virus increasing total number of fatalities resulting from the contagious disease to 107.
Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement to KUNA the new infection cases were of persons who mingled with infected individuals and others whose contamination origin was being traced.
The new infection cases include 208 Kuwaitis, 251 Indians, 156 Egyptians, 124 Bangladeshis and others of various nationalities.
Dr. Al-Sanad said number of patients receiving intensive medical care stood at 169, thus the whole count of cases that continued to get such care reached 9,852.
He put number of swab tests, conducted over the past 24 hours, at 4,712, and tally of such tests so far at 240,716.
The spokesperson re-appealed to citizens and residents to continue taking precautions against the contagion.

MoH: 203 coronavirus recoveries in Kuwait, total at 3,843
KUWAIT, May 16 (KUNA) — Kuwait’s Health Ministry announced, Saturday, the recovery of 203 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 3,843.
A ministry press statement said analyses and medical examinations and tests proved that these cases were cured of the coronavirus.
The recovered will be transferred to the hospital recuperation ward, pending their discharge within the next few days, it noted.
