May 20, KUWAIT, (KUNA) — The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health Wednesday announced 804 additional infections with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), taking the total count to 17,568.
The ministry also reported three more deaths due to the virus, bringing the country’s death toll to 124 so far.
The latest infections were all due to close contacts with previously unveiled confirmed patients or with cases that are still under active surveillance, the ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in his daily briefing.
The fresh cases include 170 Kuwaiti citizens, 261 residents from India, 140 from Egypt, 67 from Bangladesh, while the remaining cases are of other nationalities, he added.

In addition, 167 patients are still receiving medication in intensive care units, while 847 others completed their compulsory institutional quarantine period in the last 24 hours, Al-Sanad noted.

KUWAIT, May 20 (KUNA) — The Kuwaiti Health Ministry Wednesday confirmed the recovery of 204 additional novel coronavirus patients, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,885 so far.
Lab analyses and medical tests showed that the patients were cured of the coronavirus, known as Covid-19, the ministry said in a press statement to KUNA.
The cured patients will be taken to recuperation wards before being discharged from hospital within a couple of days’ time, it noted.
